OH&S?
Work Cover?
Duty of Care?
Or just looking out for your mates and colleagues...

Official government figures show that 2,200 Australians die from workplace diseases or injuries each year and receive workers' compensation. But official statistics tell only a very small part of the story. In fact, Australia has a poor record in OH&S: research by Access Economics (a very conservative organisation) suggests that between 4,900 and 8,200 Australians die each year of work-related causes. The United Nations (ILO) puts their estimate at about 6,700 Australian deaths through workplace accidents or through work-related disease each year."

Most people want two things if they suddenly become injured or ill at their workplace:
- Appropriate and fast medical assistance.
- Knowledge that family/loved ones will be notified immediately.
|
|
If a worker collapsed, became injured or unconscious, would those immediately around
the worker know:
- Their full and correct name?
- If they suffer from any previous medical conditions?
- If they are taking any medication?
- If they have any allergies?
- Who they want contacted and their phone numbers?
BE AN INNOVATOR FOR YOUR ORGANISATION'S SAFETY ISSUES!
Here are a few questions all workplaces need to consider:
- Is your work place able to provide workers with their two very basic but essential needs?
- Appropriate and fast medical assistance, and
- Ability to notify family/loved ones immediately.
- Are your records up to date at ALL TIMES. If so, where are they stored?
Would ambulance and medical personnel have access to this information INSTANTLY, 24 hours a day?
|
|
- Do all employees really tell their employers all their medical conditions and medications?
Not if they feel it may effect their employment or they feel any sort of embarrassment.
|
If you cannot confirm that you can provide all these things for your workers and emergency personnel, are you really
taking care of your employees needs and safety?
This problem has a very SIMPLE and cost effective solution:
SAFETY HELMET & HARD HAT EMERGENCY ID.

Every employee should be issued with this vital safety product, which they complete themselves and permanently attach to their helmet. If employees take off their helmets from time to time you may also have them wear SHOE ID which can attach to
