Every year approximately 30,000 people are reported missing in Australia - that's
one every 18 minutes. While over 95% are located within a month, the impact on
families, friends and the missing persons themselves can be devastating.

NSW Ambulance provided over 1,052,000 total responses (both emergency and non emergency) in 2006/2007), equivalent to a call for assistance every 30 seconds. Over the last two years demand has increased by 11.2%.

On average, four to five people are killed every day in crashes on Australian roads. A great many more are seriously injured and permanently incapacitated. Since record keeping began in 1925, there have been over 171,000 road fatalities nationally.
