Every year approximately 30,000 people are reported missing in Australia - that's one every 18 minutes. While over 95% are located within a month, the impact on families, friends and the missing persons themselves can be devastating.

NSW Ambulance provided over 1,052,000 total responses (both emergency and non emergency) in 2006/2007), equivalent to a call for assistance every 30 seconds. Over the last two years demand has increased by 11.2%.

On average, four to five people are killed every day in crashes on Australian roads. A great many more are seriously injured and permanently incapacitated. Since record keeping began in 1925, there have been over 171,000 road fatalities nationally.

It is estimated that over 210,000 Australians will have dementia in 2006. Between 2000 and 2050 the number of people with dementia in Australia is expected to increase by 327%.
